About Individual Number Notification
Update date: June 16, 2020
What is an individual number notification?
The Individual Number Notification is a document that informs you of your 12-digit individual number (My Number).
The document will include your name, date of birth, and My Number (individual number).
The Individual Number Notification will be delivered by registered mail approximately 2 to 3 weeks after it is registered in the resident record.
Note: Due to legal revisions, notification cards have been abolished, so for those who obtain My Number after May 25, 2020 (such as those who lived overseas or those who were born after the same day), We notify you of your My Number by sending you an "Individual Number Notification".
It will not be sent to those who already have a My Number.
Notes on Individual Number Notification
- The Individual Number Notification Form cannot be used as a "document certifying your My Number" or as an "identification card."
- Individual number notifications cannot be reissued.
- The My Number written on your Individual Number Notification is an important number that you will use for the rest of your life. Please store it carefully so as not to disclose it to others.
