Social security/tax number system (My number system)

• From October 2015, each citizen will be notified of a 12-digit My Number (personal number).
• Your My Number will never change unless there is a risk that your number information may be leaked or used fraudulently.
• You may not use your My Number or provide it to anyone else for purposes other than those prescribed by law.

(1) Improved convenience for citizens It becomes easier to confirm that information that exists in multiple institutions belongs to the same person, which reduces the burden on applicants by reducing the number of attached documents in administrative procedures.
　
(2) Improved administrative efficiency In the fields of social security, taxes, disasters, etc., the work of checking and inputting information at national and local governments will be reduced, leading to more efficient administrative operations.
　
(3) Realization of a fair and just society By making it easier to understand each person's income and receipt status of administrative services, it will prevent unfair evasion of burdens and unfair receipt of benefits, and will help people who are truly in need. (1) Procedures for resident change /When reporting a resident change at each municipal office,
Due to changes to the information on the back of your personal number card, you will need to present your card.
(2) Pension field : Used when acquiring pension qualifications, confirmation, and receiving benefits.
(3) Used when acquiring and confirming qualifications in the labor field and employment insurance, etc., and when receiving benefits.
(4) Used for procedures such as collecting insurance premiums for welfare, medical care, other fields , medical insurance, etc.

(5) Tax field : Used for final tax returns, notifications, investigations, etc.
(6) Used for administrative work related to disaster countermeasures and creation of disaster victim registers.
・Used when providing livelihood reconstruction support funds to support disaster victims.
