Please register with the bone marrow bank!

In Japan, there are at least 2,000 patients each year who need bone marrow transplants or peripheral blood stem cell transplants from non-relatives.
To save as many patients as possible, it is essential to have as many donor registrations as possible.
Donor registration only requires about 2 milliliters of blood collection.
For patients who are eagerly waiting for a compatible donor, your registration may be a chance to save a life.

Donor Registration Window

For more details on local offices and donor registration events nationwide, please visit the website below.

Eligible Donors for Registration

  • Those who fully understand the content of bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell donation
  • Individuals aged 18 to 54 who are healthy
  • Those with a weight of 45 kilograms or more for men and 40 kilograms or more for women

Note: The age range for donation is between 20 and 55 years old. Family consent is required for donation. Additionally, individuals with certain pre-existing conditions or health issues may be asked to refrain from donor registration.

Flow of Donor Registration

  1. Please read the registration guide "Chance" carefully and understand it before filling out and signing the "Bone Marrow Bank Donor Registration Application Form."
  2. About 2 milliliters of blood will be drawn from the arm's vein to check the HLA type (white blood cell type). There is no cost for the examination.
  3. Later, we will send you a donor registration confirmation letter from the Japan Red Cross Society's Bone Marrow Data Center.
