Accident reporting to the government is also compulsory for household solar power generation equipment (10 kW or more)

In recent years, in order to investigate the causes of fires and electric shock accidents caused by solar panel equipment and take measures to prevent recurrence, from April 1, 2021, the small output specified in Article 38 of the Electricity Business Act will be implemented. Of the power generation facilities,
・Solar power generation equipment (10 kW or more and less than 50 kW)
・Wind power generation equipment (less than 20 kW)
When an accident occurs, it is obligatory to report to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
There are also legal penalties for reporting violations.
Note: Residential solar power generation equipment of less than 10 kW is not covered.
Accidents Requiring Reporting
(1) Accidental death or injury due to electric shock, etc. (2) Electrical fire accident (3) Accidental damage to other properties (4) Accidental damage to equipment
