How to play with playground equipment safely

About “risk” and “hazard”

Play equipment is an important tool that provides play to children. Play involves a certain degree of risk, and taking on the challenge of this risk leads to enjoyment, and further develops the ability to avoid danger and the ability to foresee danger. The dangers that come with the fun of play are called "risks." Risks can be avoided by allowing children to play with appropriate supervision from parents.

On the other hand, dangers that must not be unrelated to the enjoyment of play are called "hazards." There are two types of hazards: those related to objects, i.e., the play equipment itself, and those related to people, i.e., users. All hazards must be removed before an accident occurs.
