Home PC

Updated: June 4, 2020

When using home delivery

The city has entered into an agreement with Lynette Japan Recycle Co., Ltd., a nationally certified business, and is now able to dispose of over 400 items of small electronic equipment, mainly computers, by courier.
Computers use rare and other valuable metals, so please help us recycle them.

Collection of small electronic devices using courier services (details)

Click here for details on how to use "Recovery of small electronic devices using courier services."

When requesting processing from the manufacturer

From October 1, 2003, manufacturers of PCs and PC displays began collecting new PCs and PC displays based on the "Act on Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources."
Computers and computer displays cannot be collected by the city.

Disposal method

Applications are made to each manufacturer and collected via the nearest post office.
If you are using a home-built computer, a computer from a defunct manufacturer, or one imported from overseas, please apply to the Personal Computer 3R Promotion Center (General Incorporated Association).

Collection, transportation and recycling fees

Items with the "PC Recycle Mark" purchased on or after October 1, 2003 will be subject to collection, transportation and recycling fees at the time of purchase, so only an application is required at the time of disposal.

For items purchased before September 30, 2003, and items that do not have the PC recycling mark, you will be required to pay a fee at the time of disposal. Prices are set and published by each manufacturer, but standard prices are as follows.

Target equipment recycling fee
desktop computer body 3,000 yen
notebook computer 3,000 yen
cathode ray tube display 4,000 yen
Computer with integrated cathode ray tube display 4,000 yen
lcd display 3,000 yen
LCD display integrated computer 3,000 yen

Note 1: Consumption tax is required separately.
Note 2: This fee is determined by each manufacturer. Some prices may vary.

For details, please contact each manufacturer or the PC 3R Promotion Center.
