Updated: May 16, 2017
On April 22, 2017 (Saturday), a ceremony will be held in front of Minamitama Station.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the four-lane Koremasa Bridge, the opening of Shinfuchu Kaido, the elevated JR Nambu Line, and the completion of Minamitama Station Square.
The ceremony included the unveiling of the Inagi Nashinosuke Clock Tower and the Yatter One Monument, a talk event with mechanical designer Kunio Okawara and voice actor Koichi Yamadera, and other events by local residents.
Over 1,000 people gathered on the day to celebrate the opening of the town.
In the Mayor's greeting at the beginning, he talked about "elevating the Nambu Line" and "trying to solve regional issues in terms of urban development."
Mr. Kitaguchi, chairman of the Daimaru Neighborhood Association, who co-hosted the opening ceremony in front of Minami-Tama Station with Inagi City, said, ``Minami-Tama Station will be more convenient and everyone in the area will be able to live with peace of mind.''
Afterwards, we received greetings from the Chairman of the Inagi City Council, local elected members of the Diet, and members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly.
We sent letters of appreciation to the donors of the monument, one of the highlights of the ceremony.
The Inagi Nashinosuke Clock Tower, which was installed at the north exit rotary of Minamitama Station, is from Soroptimist International Inagi (right in the photo).
The "Yatter One Monument" installed on the adjacent park site was donated by Nihon Filcon Co., Ltd. (left photo).
Kunio Okawara and Jet Inoue, the creators of Inagi Nashinosuke, appeared at the unveiling of the Inagi Nashinosuke Clock Tower.
At the unveiling of the Yatterwan monument, Mr. Kunio Okawara, who was in charge of the design of Yatterwan, and Mr. Koichi Yamadera, who voiced Yatterwan in the anime Yatterman, appeared.
In addition, children who attend local nursery schools rushed to see us.
Another highlight of the ceremony was the Talk Event, where mechanical designer Kunio Okawara (left photo) and voice actor Koichi Yamadera (center photo) appeared and excited the audience.
Anime critic Koji Igarashi (on the right in the photo) acted as moderator and talked about the secret story behind the creation of Yatter One.
After the talk event, there will be an event by local people.
The ceremony was enlivened by performances by the Komazawa Women's University cheerleading team, dance performances by the Daimaru Hayashi Preservation Society, Inagi Prosperity Festival by the Daimaru Women's Association, and Eisa by Inagi Daiki Elementary School.
We would like to thank many people for their cooperation in holding the Minamitama Station Town Opening Ceremony.
