AED explanation and installation location

Last updated: April 24, 2023

With an AED, you too can be a part of lifesaving efforts!

What is an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)?

What is AED ( Automated External Defibrillator )?

Approximately 30,000 people are said to die annually in Japan from sudden cardiac death, in which the heart suddenly stops, and ventricular fibrillation is one of the main direct causes of sudden cardiac death.
The heart acts as a pump that pumps blood throughout the body, pumping blood out at a constant rhythm. Ventricular fibrillation is a condition in which the ventricles of the heart tremble and are unable to pump blood.
Ventricular fibrillation can only be defibrillated by administering an electric shock, and the condition may return to normal. Therefore, it is important to defibrillate as quickly as possible, and an AED is a device that determines whether defibrillation is necessary and, if necessary, defibrillates with an electric shock.
The AEDs installed in public facilities in the city have been made easier to use, with instructions on how to use them displayed in pictures and text in addition to voice guidance.

Locations where AEDs are installed have signs called AED marks, so that people can easily tell that they are installed.

AED installation locations in Inagi City

Published on Inagi Map

The AEDs listed on this map are those installed in public institutions, as well as the AEDs installed in private establishments, with the cooperation of each establishment.
Although it is limited to when each business office is open and the AED is not in use within the business premises, it can also be used in case something happens to nearby citizens.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the people at the private businesses and ask that they use the facility appropriately.
