emergency fire aid team
Update date: January 6, 2023
About the emergency fire aid team
Based on the lessons learned from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, this unit was established in 1995, and in order to enhance and strengthen the emergency response system from a nationwide perspective in the event of large-scale and special disasters, the fire department was established in June 2003. It was enacted by the Organization Law Amendment.
The emergency fire aid team is a pre-registered group of rescue teams and ambulance teams belonging to fire department headquarters across the country, and is used at the request of the Fire and Disaster Management Agency Commissioner in the event of a large-scale or special disaster that is difficult to respond to by the fire department of the affected area alone. This is a nationwide firefighting support system in which firefighters are dispatched to carry out firefighting and rescue operations on-site.
