Start of small unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) operation

Update date: August 1, 2017

In order to respond to disasters that have become increasingly complex and diverse in recent years, we have introduced small unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). The aim is to quickly and effectively carry out firefighting operations by acquiring images from above the disaster site.
Drones are used at the disaster site by firefighters who have been trained to operate drones in accordance with operational rules during disasters such as fires, floods, and earthquakes.

Case Study

  • Confirmation of fire spread direction and range
  • Searching for people in need of rescue at a water disaster site
  • Checking the status of deposits and dangerous areas caused by landslides, etc.
