What is a land readjustment project?

Update date: August 28, 2013

Based on the Land Readjustment Law, the land readjustment project is to ask land owners to gradually provide (reduce) the land within the range of value increase due to the project, and use it to create new public areas such as roads and parks. It is a project to utilize it as a facility and maintain an orderly urban area. The purpose of this is to improve the living environment and improve the use of residential land.
Instead of using the land acquisition method used in general public works projects, we adopt a method called replacement land, in which individual housing sites are relocated so that they can be used most easily in conjunction with the development of public facilities while taking into account existing conditions. Enforcement bodies include individual enforcement, union enforcement, administrative agency enforcement conducted by prefectures and municipalities as a group, the Urban Renaissance Agency, and housing supply corporations.
