Updated: January 1, 2017

Musical accompaniment of Inagi

Musical accompaniment is accompanied by flutes, drums, and dances, and has been organized by each shrine and region since ancient times.
In the January 1, 2017 issue, we will introduce the musicians who are active in the city to celebrate the New Year and convey the "traditional culture of Inagi City".

Please see the paper here.

Seiyu ( Blue ) musical accompaniment

It was formed in 1972 by 5 people who wanted to make the festival of Inagi lively, and currently 45 people belong to it. From experienced to beginner, we practice in a family-like atmosphere. At the beginning of the year, we visit each household in the Higashi Naganuma area.
There are many activities outside the city, and we participate in festivals such as Fuchu City, Kokubunji City, and Koganei City.
What kind of activities would you like to do in 2017?
Last year, we changed the wheels of the dashi float, so this year we want to get new ones. It's also a place for children to present their work, so I'd like to let them perform on a new stage.

  • Yasaka Shrine annual festival (Higashinaganuma, July)
  • Tsushima Shrine Annual Festival (Higashinaganuma, July)

Inagi Music

It is the oldest in the city and has been active since the Meiji era. There were times when it was suspended during and after the war, but now people of all ages from 4 to 71 belong to the joint Yanoguchi and Sakahama districts. It is the only group in the city that is registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Folk Performing Arts Association, and about 20 people practice every day.
In order for everyone to enjoy the festival, we value the rhythm that is essential to the festival and hand it down to the younger generation.
What kind of activities would you like to do in 2017?
I will do my best to get the audience to get into the rhythm, shake their heads, and clap their hands.

  • Anazawa Tenjin Shrine Annual Festival (Yanoguchi/August)
  • Tenman Shrine Annual Festival (Sakahama/September)

  • Anazawa Tenjin Shrine (Yanoguchi, year-end and New Year holidays)

Daimaru Music

Young people of Daimaru district started in 1983. Continuing activities rooted in the community, participating in community events together with people such as the support party of Omatono-no-Mame-ten Shrine, the Youth District Committee, and the Fire Brigade 3rd Branch. doing.
Speaking of Daimarubayashi's uniqueness, it is the deep connection with the local community. When the floats are pulled at the autumn festival, more and more children jump in to participate. I try to play to make everyone smile.
What kind of activities would you like to do in 2017?
In 2016, many elementary school students entered from the age of 3. I want to raise these children carefully so that they can continue for a long time.

Oshitabayashi

It was established by local volunteers in 1988, and belongs to the Oshitate Shimakami Shrine Hosankai. Inheriting the tradition of the Inagibayashi Preservation Society, we aim to contribute to regional revitalization. Many women play an active role in Oshidate-bayashi, and currently all the musical instruments are performed by women.
We try to change the program according to the audience so that they can become familiar with the music and enjoy it. In addition, while inheriting the tradition, we actively incorporate new things.
What kind of activities would you like to do in 2017?
We want to make the festival more popular with local people. And I'm going to pray that there won't be a disaster in the area.

Traditional performing arts rooted in Inagi

In the city, 10 groups have gathered to carry on traditional local performing arts, including music, and have organized the "Inagi City Folk Performing Arts Preservation Society."
The traditional performing arts of Inagi City are said to have originated in the 6th year of Oan (Muromachi period) when Gonritsushi Yamamoto Hironobu founded Daidai Kagura. After that, there is a record that the lion dance of Seiyu Shrine and the lion dance of Anazawa Tenjin Shrine were performed in the Edo period. There was a time when it was temporarily discontinued, but it has been revived and new initiatives have begun, and it has reached the present.
In March 2016, the 10th “Inagi City Furusato Folk Performing Arts Festival” was held, and valuable local performing arts in the city were presented to everyone. The next event is scheduled for 2018, so please look forward to it.
The video of the 10th Inagi City Furusato Folk Performing Arts Festival is available on the "Inagi City Video Channel". Please see from city homepage or YouTube.
