Update date: December 16, 2016

Announced at the 15th I Town Inagi Citizen Festival

As part of the 45th anniversary of the city's incorporation, the city has decided to make the kestrel its city bird, a symbol of the city's progress to date.

In making this decision, the City Bird Review Citizens' Council, which is made up of academic experts, related organizations, and citizens who were publicly recruited, held three meetings, and the selection of the "kestrel" was made based on the results of a public vote.

The kestrel is a member of the peregrine falcon family that is about the size of a pigeon, and can be seen in the city near Kamiyato Ohashi Bridge.
