Beware of illegal waste collectors!

Last updated: December 4, 2020

illegal junkyard

Recently, leaflets stating that "Discarded items will be collected free of charge" and "Notice of free collection of electrical appliances, metals and industrial products" have been circulating in the city.
When I asked such a waste collection company to dispose of it, I was told, "I thought it was free, but I was charged a high price after loading it in the car." The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan has been receiving consultations such as "I was billed for this."
Also, if you give it to such a waste collection company, it will not be recycled properly, and it may lead to environmental pollution and illegal dumping both in Japan and overseas.
Please dispose of disused items from your home properly according to the city's household waste disposal rules.
