Rare metals and other valuable metals are used in small electronic devices such as digital cameras and game consoles.
As a new recycling initiative, the city has set up dedicated collection boxes at 11 locations, including City Hall, the Cultural Center, and home appliance stores, and is collecting 9 items of used small electronic devices.
You can drop them off in the box during the opening hours of each facility, so if you have any small electronic devices that you have finished using at home, please feel free to use them.
Note: Please be sure to erase any items that contain personal information before bringing them.
Note: Once items are placed in the collection box, they cannot be taken out.
Note: Please take out the box/bag and put only the applicable small electronic devices into the box.
Note: Please remove the batteries and place them on the hazardous materials collection day.
Note: Please put small electronic devices with non-removable rechargeable batteries, such as electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, and mobile batteries, in the small home appliance collection box or take them out on the Hazardous Items Day.

Recyclers certified by the Ministry of the Environment transport the materials to recycling plants in Japan, where they are disassembled, shredded, and sorted. This allows valuable metal resources such as rare metals to be recycled, and also leads to a reduction in non-burnable waste.
The amount of used small electronic devices collected from the boxes is as follows:
