How much does it cost to use nursing care insurance services?

Last updated: May 1, 2019

When using long-term care insurance services, the insured person (service user) pays part of the cost, and the insurer (municipal government) bears the rest. At this time, the "burden ratio" indicates how much the insured person should bear for the actual expenses incurred.

Self-pay ratio of nursing care service

The burden ratio for those aged 65 and over is divided into three levels, 10%, 20%, and 30%, depending on the income situation of the previous year.

Regarding the issuance of the burden ratio certificate

A long-term care insurance contribution ratio certificate will be issued to all those who are certified as requiring long-term care or support.
The long-term care insurance burden ratio certificate is a certificate that lists the “burden ratio” when using long-term care insurance services.

Since the burden ratio is determined according to the income of the previous year, it is issued to those who have been certified as needing long-term care or support from late June to July every year.
When you receive your ratio certificate, please keep it in a safe place together with your long-term care insurance certificate.

Note 1: For those who have newly received certification for long-term care or support, it will be issued when the certification result notification is sent.
Note 2: It will not be issued to those who do not have certification for long-term care or support.
