Inagi City bridge repair plan to extend the lifespan of bridges, etc.
Updated: June 5, 2024
Inagi City has formulated a long-life repair plan for bridges and tunnels that are 5 meters or longer that it manages. At present, there are no bridges that are more than 50 years old, but in 20 years, half of the bridges will be 50 years old, and the number of aging bridges will increase rapidly.
For this reason, we have formulated a long life repair plan with the following three main objectives:
Main purpose of longevity repair plan
1. Cost reduction through longer life
By switching from conventional symptomatic treatment to planned and preventive maintenance, we will extend the lifespan of bridges and reduce medium- to long-term maintenance costs.
2. Budget leveling
By implementing preventive maintenance and carrying out repair work in a planned manner, future maintenance costs can be leveled out.
3. Ensuring the safety and reliability of road networks
By detecting damage that could lead to accidents at an early stage and systematically carrying out bridge inspections, repairs, and replacements, we can keep bridges in optimal condition to avoid disruption to traffic and ensure the safety and reliability of the road network.
