The operation of the Basic Resident Registration Network System has started for foreign residents

According to the "Law for Partial Revision of the Basic Resident Register" (promulgated on July 15, 2009), foreign residents listed in the resident card are also allowed to use the Basic Resident Register network system ( Resident Registration Network) started operation on July 8, 2013.

As a result, the following points will change:
The resident card code will be listed on the resident card
●With the start of operation of Resident Registration Net, the resident record code will be written on the resident record of foreign residents (excluding cases where they are planning to move out). The resident registration code is a unique, random 11-digit number that does not duplicate throughout the country, and is essential for nationwide identity verification on the Resident Registration Register network.
●This resident record code will be notified using the "Resident Record Code Notification Sheet." There are no procedures required by this notification, but please keep this notification slip in a safe place.
Examples of other services available
- Procedures will be simplified, such as the submission of a copy of the resident card to some administrative agencies.

Note : It is necessary to present a "official ID card with a face photo" such as a residence card.
- Those who have been issued a basic resident registration card (resident registry card) can receive an exception for notification of moving in. (Reference link: Exception for notification of moving in )
