Points to Consider When Storing Tap Water

In the event that the water supply becomes unavailable due to natural disasters or power outages, preparing stored tap water can also be a part of disaster preparedness. However, please keep the following points in mind when storing water.

  1. How to Store Water
    Fill a clean, lidded container to the brim with water.
  2. Storage period for prepared water
    Avoid direct sunlight, approximately 3 days at room temperature and 10 days in the refrigerator.
  3. Guideline for the amount of water to store
    Approximately 3 liters per person per day
