About the Inagi City Carbon Neutral Declaration

In recent years, extreme weather events that are thought to be caused by climate change have occurred all over the world. In Japan as well, heavy rains and large typhoons have occurred, resulting in flood damage, as well as extreme heat and cold waves. have an impact.

One of the causes of these climate changes is thought to be global warming that accompanies an increase in greenhouse gas emissions.

In response to this global situation, on February 27, 5th year of Reiwa, the city decided to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in the mayor's administrative policy at the first regular meeting of the Inagi City Council in 5th year of Reiwa. We have declared that we will aim to achieve so-called carbon neutrality, which means that

  • Promotion of conversion to LED lighting in public facilities

What is a zero carbon city?

The Ministry of the Environment defines “zero carbon cities” as “local governments that have announced their intention to aim to reduce carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) emissions to virtually zero by 2050, either by the chief himself or as a local government.”
