Please cooperate with the installation and management of rainwater storage and infiltration facilities!
Updated: August 24, 2017
Inagi City is proceeding with the development of rainwater storage and infiltration facilities in order to process the rain that falls within the city.
This rainwater harvesting and infiltration facility can be installed on your property.
If you install rainwater storage and infiltration facilities, the amount of rainwater flowing into the city's waterways and rivers will decrease and flooding can be prevented.
In order to protect your home and town from flooding caused by frequent localized torrential rains, we ask for your cooperation in installation and management.
Facility for infiltration of rainwater
Examples of rainwater infiltration include rainwater infiltration trenches.
By infiltrating rainwater into the ground, it becomes groundwater and can be effectively used as a sound water circulation resource.
rainwater seepage
Rain that falls on the roof is drained into the rainwater infiltration basin via rain gutters.
One rainwater percolation bucket with a diameter of 25 centimeters has the ability to infiltrate the ground with rainwater equivalent to a bath in one hour.
As shown in the photo below, rainwater permeates through the bottom and side holes. Please clean regularly so that soil and fallen leaves do not reduce the penetration function.

In addition to rainwater infiltration, you can obtain further infiltration effects by installing infiltration trenches.
Although it cannot be seen in daily life, it can be installed on the premises as shown in the photo below. Rainwater seeps through the perforated pipe and gravel at the bottom.

Facility to store rainwater
An example of rainwater storage is a storage tank. By installing a storage tank, it is possible to temporarily store the rain that falls on the roof, etc., and use it as valuable daily life water such as watering home gardens and trees, and in the event of a disaster.
In addition, in the event of torrential rain, it is possible to prevent the concentration of wastewater by staggering the storage time.

Maintenance and management of rainwater infiltration storage facilities
By properly maintaining and managing rainwater storage and infiltration facilities, it is possible to fully demonstrate their capabilities continuously.
Please clean the rainwater seepage, and the sand and fallen leaves accumulated in the storage tank on a regular basis.
In addition, since the rainwater storage and infiltration facility is buried underground, its location, scale, and maintenance may not be fully confirmed because it is not usually seen.
Please check the rainwater storage and infiltration facility in your home and perform regular maintenance.
Rainwater measures strengthening month
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government designates June as Rainwater Countermeasures Month and asks everyone to be prepared for flooding.
If you put garbage in the "rainwater basin" or "side gutter" installed in the residential area or on the side of the road, the rainwater will not flow in and the risk of flooding will increase.
Regularly clean the area around the "rainwater basin" and "gutter" so that the rainwater flows smoothly.

Provision of rainfall information
The Bureau of Sewerage, Tokyo Metropolitan Government publishes "Tokyo Amesh" on the Internet, which updates and provides rainfall information in real time.
When torrential rain is expected, check the news and information such as "Tokyo Amesh" and be prepared.
