How the sewer system works

Update date: April 1, 2011

There are two types of drainage methods for sewage: the " separate type " and the "combined type." Inagi City uses the separated type .
Separate drainage is a method that separates rainwater and wastewater, and the rainwater is discharged into roadside ditches (sometimes called rainwater pipes).
In addition, sewage is biochemically treated at the Minami-Tama Water Reclamation Center (sewage treatment plant) and released into the Tama River as clean water.

What is drainage equipment?

Drainage facilities are facilities in residential areas that are constructed and maintained at the expense of the users, and are facilities that drain all wastewater from kitchens, bathrooms, laundry, toilets, etc. to public sewage basins.
