I don't want to have a mammogram for breast cancer screening because it hurts. What should I do.

Updated: April 1, 2018

Breast cancer can be cured if detected and treated early!
If you are over the age of 40, you should have a breast cancer screening every two years.

There are many cases of breast cancer that cannot be detected by self-palpation. If you think that you should only go to the hospital after subjective symptoms appear, you may be past the period of "early cancer".

Breast cancer screening consists of an interview and a mammogram (breast X-ray).

Mammography is such a test

A mammogram is an x-ray of the breasts, also called a breast x-ray.
It is an excellent imaging test that can detect lumps of 1 cm or less. An X-ray is taken from above with the breast sandwiched between a plastic plate and an imaging table.
It is recommended to avoid the period when the chest is tight.
