According to the "Act for Partial Revision of the Basic Resident Register" (promulgated on July 15, 2009), foreign residents listed on their resident registers are also required to use the Basic Resident Register Network System in the same way as Japanese residents. As a result, the following points will change:
●With the start of operation of Resident Registration Net, the resident record code will be written on the resident record of foreign residents (excluding cases where they are planning to move out). The resident registration code is a unique, random 11-digit number that does not duplicate throughout the country, and is essential for nationwide identity verification on the Resident Registration Register network.
●This resident record code will be notified using the "Resident Record Code Notification Sheet." There are no procedures required by this notification, but please keep this notification slip in a safe place.
Note : You must present an official photo ID such as a residence card.
Note : Please note that the issuance and issuance of Resident Registration Cards ended on Monday, December 28, 2015.
