Alert regarding businesses calling themselves “elderly support centers” etc.

A business that calls itself an "elderly support center," which is reminiscent of a public institution, asks consumers to cancel the registration of their personal information, claiming that their personal information has been leaked and registered with another organization. Consultation regarding a scheme in which multiple organizations or persons (hereinafter referred to as "related parties") appear, make various demands from consumers, and ultimately have consumers send large amounts of cash by courier. are being sent to consumer affairs centers, etc. in various places.

Based on the provisions of Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Consumer Safety Act (Act No. 50 of 2009), the Consumer Affairs Agency has determined that there is a risk of unfairly harming the interests of consumers in transactions with elderly support centers and related parties. We have received information that there is a certain act (deceiving or intimidating consumers that confuses them), so we would like to inform all consumers in order to prevent the occurrence or spread of consumer harm.

Note: In addition to "elderly support center," similar names such as "elderly welfare support center" and "elderly life support volunteer center" may be used.
