Applying for My Number Cards for people emigrating overseas

Japanese nationals who have emigrated overseas on or after October 5, 2015 can apply for a My Number Card for people who have emigrated overseas.

Note: If an application is made by a voluntary representative, the person in question should fill out the PIN setting request form, place it in an envelope, seal it with glue, etc., and bring it with them in a manner that prevents the representative from seeing the PIN.

You will receive an email from your home address with instructions on how to receive the payment. Please follow the instructions to make the payment.

If you are applying at a Japanese diplomatic mission or your place of temporary residence and picking up your certificate at a Japanese diplomatic mission (if your registered domicile is in Inagi City)

Once Inagi City has reviewed your application and other documents, we will send you an email with information on payment methods.
If your registered domicile is in Inagi City, please pay using either method 1 or 2.
Note: Payment methods vary by city or town, so if your registered domicile is in another city or town, please check with your registered domicile.
 
1. Direct payment at the city hall (payment at Inagi City Hall by relatives or friends in Japan)
Please let us know in advance the names of those visiting and the date of their visit.
 
2. Sending cash by mail (registered mail or fixed-amount postal money order)

Note: Please do not write your name or anything else on the fixed amount postal money order. Payment by stamps, etc. is not accepted.

About the period from application to receipt

It takes approximately two months from application to issuance of your My Number card. If you have not received a notification email more than three months after applying, please contact your place of origin.
