Issuance (receiving) of My Number cards for those who have emigrated overseas

The procedure for receiving your My Number Card if you have emigrated overseas is as follows:

Receiving process

  1. After applying for your My Number Card, it will be issued in approximately two months.
  2. Once preparations for issuance have been completed, you will receive a notification email from the Japanese diplomatic mission or city/ward/town/village that you designated as the collection location when you applied.
  3. When you receive the issuance notification email, please bring all the necessary documents and come to the designated pick-up location in person (if you are under 15 years old or an adult ward, you must be accompanied by a legal representative) . After verifying your identity, you will be issued your My Number card.

Please visit the location (diplomatic mission, temporary residence, or permanent domicile) specified when applying.
Note: If you wish to change your pick-up location, please contact your permanent address.

Note: A photo ID can be used in place of identification for those under the age of 18 and adult wards. Please download it and have your legal guardian fill it out.
Note: Valid identification documents vary depending on the collection location, so please check with the Japanese diplomatic mission or city/ward office designated as the card collection location.

Free <br id="3"/>However, in the following cases, a fee of 1,000 yen (800 yen if no electronic certificate is installed) will be charged.

You will receive an email from your home address with instructions on how to receive the payment. Please follow the instructions to make the payment.

If you are applying at a Japanese diplomatic mission or your place of temporary residence and picking up your certificate at a Japanese diplomatic mission (if your registered domicile is in Inagi City)

Once Inagi City has reviewed your application and other documents, we will send you an email with information on payment methods.
If your registered domicile is in Inagi City, please pay using either method 1 or 2.
Note: Payment methods vary by city or town, so if your registered domicile is in another city or town, please check with your registered domicile.
 
1. Direct payment at the city hall (payment at Inagi City Hall by relatives or friends in Japan)
Please let us know in advance the names of those visiting and the date of their visit.
 
2. Sending cash by mail (registered mail or fixed-amount postal money order)

Note: Please do not write your name or anything else on the fixed amount postal money order. Payment by stamps, etc. is not accepted.
