If you hear the national instantaneous warning system (J alert)

Last updated: December 6, 2022

In light of the increasing possibility of a missile attack occurring in Tokyo, we urge all residents to protect themselves by taking appropriate evacuation actions in the event of a national instant warning system (J-Alert) being issued. We have created a leaflet with the slogan, "As soon as you hear J-Alert, run away, leave, hide."

In the event of a ballistic missile launch, the city has a system in place to immediately notify citizens via disaster prevention administrative radio, which is automatically activated when a J-Alert is received. An email will be sent, and the same content will also be sent to those who have registered for the Inagi City email delivery service (disaster information email).
Please take this opportunity to register for the city's mail delivery service.

In the event of an emergency, the city is prepared to take appropriate and prompt measures to protect citizens based on the Inagi City Civil Protection Plan. Information is provided by the government and media, and the city does not obtain it independently. Citizens, please pay attention to information from the mass media.

Overview of the National Instantaneous Warning System (J-Alert)

Ballistic missile information, tsunami warnings, earthquake early warnings, and other information related to situations in which there is no time to respond are transmitted from the national government (from the Cabinet Secretariat and the Meteorological Agency via the Fire and Disaster Management Agency), and municipal disaster prevention administrative radio (broadcast system), etc. It is a system that instantly transmits emergency information from the government to residents by automatically starting up.
In addition, J-Alert will use the siren sound of civil protection warnings and will be widely used in areas where attention is required for ballistic missiles.
