What happens to the property tax if I sell land or a house in the middle of the year?

Fixed asset tax is assessed on January 1st of each year, and is levied for the fiscal year starting April 1st of that year. Therefore, even if you sell the property in the middle of the year, the tax will be charged to the current owner as of January 1st.
