Formulation of the Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan
Japan experienced an unprecedented catastrophe in the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the methods of disaster prevention and mitigation up to now have been called into question.
Since then, the concept of "building national resilience" in preparation for large-scale natural disasters has spread through comprehensive responses that include national land and industrial policies. A framework for promoting resilience throughout the country has been developed, such as the enactment of the Basic Law for National Resilience, which contributes to disaster prevention and mitigation.
The city has been promoting disaster prevention and mitigation measures based on the "Inagi City Regional Disaster Prevention Plan", etc., but due to the impact of climate change, landslide disasters and wind and flood damage due to heavy rains have increased in recent years. In addition, due to concerns about the occurrence of a huge earthquake such as the Tama earthquake, we will formulate the "Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan" and promote the development of a strong, flexible and sustainable city.
In addition, while maintaining harmony with the “Fifth Inagi City Long-Term Comprehensive Plan,” this plan will be consistent with the plans of the national government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Inagi City. It will be positioned as a guideline for specific measures.
