Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan
Update date: August 15, 2022
Formulation of Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan
Our country experienced an unprecedented disaster in the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the current state of disaster prevention and mitigation measures was called into question.
Since then, the idea of ``building national resilience'' in preparation for large-scale natural disasters has spread through comprehensive responses including national land policy and industrial policy, and in December 2013, the idea of ``realizing a strong and flexible national life'' has become popular. Frameworks have been put in place to promote resilience throughout the country, including the enactment of the Basic Act on National Resilience Contributing to Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
The city has been promoting disaster prevention and mitigation measures based on the "Inagi City Regional Disaster Prevention Plan," etc., but due to the effects of climate change, landslides and wind and flood damage caused by heavy rains have increased in recent years. Furthermore, as there are concerns about the occurrence of a huge earthquake such as the Tama Inland Earthquake, we have formulated the ``Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan'' and are working to create a strong, flexible, and sustainable city.
This plan is in harmony with the "Fifth Long-Term Comprehensive Plan for Inagi City," and aims to be consistent with the plans of the national government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Inagi City, while also implementing related matters that will contribute to the city's national resilience. It will be positioned as a guideline for specific measures.
