Disaster prevention measures based on gender equality: Protecting the lives and health of those in vulnerable positions
Contents
As disaster prevention awareness has improved, disaster prevention measures have gradually been improved for individuals and evacuation shelters. However, in actual life in evacuation shelters, there is a lack of consideration for the different needs of men and women, and there are many reports of people who have become vulnerable to disasters being forced to endure unreasonable hardships or live in dangerous environments.
Now that anyone can become a disaster victim in the future, why not learn perspectives and methods to help those who tend to be in a vulnerable position during disasters, including women, stay healthy both physically and mentally?

What is “Gender Equality Promotion Forum Inagi”?
The Inagi Forum for Promoting Gender Equality was held in 1975 (Showa 50) to commemorate the International Women's Year, under the theme of "Leaving a Good Society to Our Children." It was called the Inagi City Women's Gathering.
Since then, the name has changed to "Inagi Women's Gathering," "Inagi Women's Forum," "Inagi Forum for Men and Women," etc., and themes have been taken up in various formats such as lectures, eventually becoming the current "Inagi Gender Equality Promotion Forum."
In order to realize a society where everyone can live as they are, the executive committee made up of citizens selects various themes related to gender equality, requests lecturers, arranges meetings, manages the event on the day, and creates a record book.
