In Tokyo, considering the increasing possibility of missile attacks, we have created a leaflet for residents to protect themselves through appropriate evacuation actions in the event that the Nationwide Instantaneous Warning System (J-Alert) is issued. The slogan is "When you hear J-Alert, immediately run, move away, or hide."

In the event that a ballistic missile is launched, the city has a system in place to immediately inform citizens through the disaster prevention administrative radio, which is automatically activated upon receiving a J-Alert. Additionally, area mail and emergency alert messages will be sent to mobile phones, and the same information will be distributed to those registered with the Inagi City Mail Distribution Service (Disaster Information Mail).
We encourage you to take this opportunity to register for the city's mail distribution service.

In addition, the city has established a system to implement measures for the protection of citizens promptly and accurately based on the Inagi City National Protection Plan in the event of an emergency. However, regarding the situation in neighboring countries, the city receives information from the national government and the media, and does not independently obtain such information. We ask all citizens to pay attention to information from the media and other sources.

Overview of the Nationwide Instantaneous Warning System (J-Alert)

This is a system that transmits information from the national government (via the Cabinet Secretariat and the Japan Meteorological Agency to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency) regarding situations that require immediate action, such as ballistic missile information, tsunami warnings, and emergency earthquake alerts, and automatically activates municipal disaster prevention administrative wireless systems (broadcast systems) to instantly convey emergency information from the national government to residents.
In addition, information transmission via J-Alert uses the siren sound of alerts related to national protection and is widely disseminated to areas that need to be cautious of ballistic missiles.
