20th Anniversary Project Lecture "Science of Cognition and Behavior" & April Professor Lecture Introduction Event Held (January 28, 2024)
Updated: July 30, 2024
Part 1: 20th Anniversary Lecture “Science of Cognition and Behavior - Is the world we see really all there is?”
As the second commemoration of our 20th anniversary, we will welcome Professor Takahiro Higuchi of Tokyo Metropolitan University to give a lecture on "Science of Cognition and Behavior."
Cognitive and behavioral science
The world we see and feel is only a small part of the information processed by the brain. In this lecture, we will explore the mysteries of cognition and behavior using examples of unexpected, everyday mistakes and falls while walking.
In this lecture, participants will experience a famous demonstration and gain an understanding of cognitive functions, particularly the function of attention. Based on this, we will consider how knowledge of cognition and behavior can be applied to prevent careless mistakes and falls.
Part 2: Professor course introduction event starting in April
The 34th term of the ``Professor Course'' will begin in April, allowing anyone to practice ``learning is fun'' in their local community. At this event, we will have the teachers who will be on stage come and promote the course face-to-face. (For teachers who are absent, an IC College director will read the lecture on their behalf.) Please come to the venue, as it will give you an opportunity to study a new field.
