Preparing for the simultaneous outbreak of the new coronavirus and influenza, and what to do if you feel unwell such as having a fever

Update date: November 21, 2022

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has pointed out that this winter, in addition to the spread of the new coronavirus infection exceeding that of this summer, there is also a possibility that seasonal influenza will become prevalent and a large number of patients with fever will occur at the same time.
For this reason, we are calling for advance preparation in case it becomes difficult to go to outpatient clinics for fever (medical examination/testing medical institutions), etc., and for cooperation in outpatient visits and treatment according to the risk of aggravation.

What to do if you are feeling unwell, such as having a fever

Flow of outpatient visits and medical treatment for people at high risk of becoming seriously ill

Flowchart of outpatient consultations and treatment for those at high risk of developing severe symptoms

Flow of outpatient consultation and medical treatment for patients with low risk of becoming seriously ill

Prepare test kits and medicines in case of infection.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is asking people to purchase coronavirus antigen test kits and antipyretic analgesics in advance so that they can confirm the infection themselves and receive treatment at home.
Make sure you know what you need so that you don't run out of food or daily necessities during your recovery period.
