Please do not feed wildlife such as pigeons or carp.

Last updated: March 15, 2022

Feeding pigeons and other birds seen in Misawa River and parks has caused damage. Even if you feed the animals with love, it affects the healthy ecosystem of wildlife. To maintain a healthy ecosystem and protect the environment, please stop feeding them.

Feeding wildlife causes them to overpopulate and expand their roosting areas.
They build nests where people live, increasing the damage caused by their droppings and cries.
They are no longer able to forage on their own, and biodiversity is destroyed.

What is biodiversity?

In our daily lives, we are surrounded by plants, animals, insects, fish, and many other living things.
Living things are interconnected, and all living things are connected through the relationship of "eating" and "being eaten."
The various supportive relationships that exist between living things are called "biodiversity."
Inflicting harm on living things around us, feeding them needlessly, and disturbing the natural lives of those living things destroys the bonds between living things and makes it impossible to preserve biodiversity for the future.
Let's treat living things with kindness and consideration.
