Visited Foster City

Updated: March 1, 2023

A Foster City visit tour sponsored by the Inagi City Sister and Friendship Cities Exchange Association was held, and we visited Foster City, an overseas sister city.
A total of 11 people participated, including the mayor of Inagi City and the chairman of the Inagi City Sister and Friendship Cities Association.
On the first day, we went to an elementary school and visited the school. I was handed headphones for simultaneous interpretation, and the principal and elementary school students showed me around the school.
Next, we headed to the lagoon in the center of the city and boarded a boat for a city tour.
A welcome party was held in the evening. Mr. John Frumin, Mayor of Foster City, Mr. and Mrs. David Saito, the new president of the Foster City Sister City Association, Mr. and Mrs. Noguchi, Consul General of San Francisco, and many others welcomed the residents of Inagi to their visit.

On the second day, an exchange meeting with citizens of Foster City was held. First, the children gave an introduction to Foster City and their school life.
Then we exchanged gifts. Mayor Froomin gave us custom-made street signs.
At lunchtime, we socialized over sliced steak sandwiches and salads prepared by members of the Foster City Rotary Club.
At the end of the event, there was an orchestra performance by the children, which was very lively.
On the way back, everyone saw the bus off and the group was dissolved.

Foster City citizens visited Inagi City in October last year, and Inagi citizens visited Foster City City this time, and mutual citizen exchanges began. In the future, we would like to connect the exchanges between the children of both cities.
