Visited Foster City

Last updated: March 1, 2023

A Foster City tour was held sponsored by the Inagi Sister and Friendship City Exchange Association, and we visited our overseas sister city, Foster City.
A total of 11 people participated, including the mayor of Inagi and the president of the Inagi Sister and Friendship City Exchange Association.
On the first day, we went to an elementary school and took a tour of the school. We were given simultaneous translation headphones, and the principal and elementary school students showed us around the school.
Next, we headed to the lagoon in the city center where we boarded a boat and toured the city.
In the evening, a welcome party was held. The citizens of Inagi were welcomed to visit by many people, including Foster City Mayor John Froomin, Mr. and Mrs. David Saito, the new president of the Foster City Sister Cities Association, and Mr. and Mrs. Noguchi, Consul General of San Francisco.

On the second day, an exchange event with Foster City residents was held. First, the children introduced Foster City and gave presentations about their lives at their schools.
Next, we exchanged gifts. We received a custom-made street sign from Mayor Flumin.
At lunchtime, they socialized while eating sliced steak sandwiches and salads made by members of the Foster City Rotary Club.
At the end, there was an orchestral performance by the children, which was a great success.
On the way back, everyone saw us off on the bus and dispersed.

Last October, Foster City residents visited Inagi City, and this time, Inagi residents visited Foster City, starting a mutual citizen exchange. We hope to lead to exchanges between the children of both cities in the future.
