Inagi, the city of bicycles

Last updated: May 11, 2023

Inagi City has many places to enjoy cycling, such as the Tama River Cycling Road and Minami Tama Ridge Road, so it attracts many cyclists from inside and outside the city.
Additionally, we introduced shared bicycles in 2018 and are focusing on creating an environment that increases mobility within the city.
In addition, the cycling (road race) course for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games passed through the city.
We will continue to promote Inagi as a city of bicycles and work to make it an attractive place for cyclists.
Note: Due to the revision of the Road Traffic Act, wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle has become a voluntary obligation since April 1, 2023. We have heard from bicycle sharing stations that they will not provide helmets due to hygiene concerns and safety issues caused by size mismatches. However, we ask that users of bicycle sharing stations actively wear helmets to ensure their own safety.
