how parliament works
Updated: March 7, 2012
At the plenary session on the first day of the regular meeting (four times a year), the reasons for the proposals are explained.
As a general rule, submitted proposals are referred to a committee for detailed review. The progress and results of the committee's review will then be reported at the plenary session, and after a discussion for and against the proposal, a vote will be taken.
In addition to the proposals, general questions regarding the mayor's thoughts on general city administration, as well as representative questions asked at the March regular meeting (questions about the mayor's statement of beliefs or administrative policies), will be held during the first half of the session.
