Last updated: August 15, 2014
1. Regarding the installation of security lights on private roads
If you would like to install new security lights on your driveway where security lights are not installed, please contact us in advance. The city will check the installation requirements for the target private road, and if the requirements are met, we will guide you on how to prepare the application documents.
2. Installation requirements
Driveways that meet all of the following requirements are eligible for security lighting installation.
The road must be at least 2.7 meters wide.
As a general rule, the starting point and ending point must be adjacent to a city road or a road managed by the mayor.
In the case of a dead-end road, the starting point must be adjacent to a city road or a road managed by the mayor, and the depth must be at least 20 meters.
The number of eligible households must be 5 or more.
All residents living adjacent to the location where the security lights are scheduled to be installed must consent to the installation.
If there is no TEPCO pole or NTT pole at the location where the security light is planned to be installed, the land owner (owner of land rights) must consent to the use of the land for the installation of a single pole free of charge.
In addition to the items listed above, items that are requested by the police station, etc. as necessary for crime prevention, and items that the city recognizes as having a high public interest will be subject to installation. However, the city will not install security lights on private roads that were built less than five years ago or where the site is under dispute.
