Free early childhood education and childcare began in October 2019.

The following details include who is eligible for each facility, the details of the free service, and the procedures. Please see this page for information on free childcare fees for the second child from 0 years old to 2 years old attending a licensed nursery school.
Note: In the case of 0- to 2-year-old classes for households exempt from municipal inhabitant tax, users of community-based childcare services (home-based childcare services, etc.) are also eligible.
The childcare fee set by the city will be 0 yen.
However, the cost of school lunch materials for children aged 3 and above is not eligible for free tuition and must be paid directly to the facility.
Parents will be responsible for event expenses.
No procedure is required.
In the city, these include Kodomo no Mori Certified Kindergarten, Southern Hills Kindergarten, and Aoba Kindergarten.
Note for children from the 3-year-old class to the 5-year-old class: The 3-year-old class is one class below the younger class, and is free of charge from the month following their 3rd birthday.
The childcare fee set by the city will be 0 yen.
Parents will be responsible for specific costs, school lunch material costs, transportation costs to and from kindergarten, event costs, etc.
No formalities are required.
In addition, those who use day care will be able to receive benefits for the usage fees of day care if they receive Certification No. 2 or 3 of Facility Usage Benefit Certification for Childcare. A maximum of 25,700 yen per month will be paid as a benefit for the use of facilities for raising children, covering childcare fees and admission fees.
However, the cost of school lunch materials, transportation to and from kindergarten, event expenses, etc. must be borne by parents.
Payment will be made in one of the following ways: As a general rule, facilities in the city accept the payment by proxy. If you are outside the city, it will vary depending on the facility, so please ask the facility which method to use.

In addition to free childcare (up to 25,700 yen per month for kindergartens under the current system, free for kindergartens under the new system such as certified kindergartens), we will pay up to 450 yen per day for childcare. The monthly upper limit is 11,300 yen for person 1 and 16,300 yen for person 2.

Employee quota users do not need to complete any procedures.
Regional quota users must be certified as requiring childcare (Children's Education and Childcare Benefits Certification No. 2 and No. 3) before they can begin using the facility. For children in taxable households from the 0-year-old class to the 2-year-old class, there is a subsidy for unlicensed childcare business users.

When requesting reimbursement for child-rearing facility use benefits, please submit the following documents to the city.
Billing amounts up to the following due dates will be transferred around the end of the following month.
1st period: July 15th, 2nd period: October 15th, 3rd period: January 15th, 4th period: April 15th Note: If the deadline falls on a day when City Hall is closed, it will be the next day the city hall is open.
