Payment and subsidy of medical expenses and allowances

Regarding medical care for single-parent families, there is a subsidy system to cover the cost of insurance.
Additionally, there is a child rearing allowance as a national system, and a child upbringing allowance as a Tokyo metropolitan system.

Single-mother and single-father families independence support education and training benefits

We will subsidize part of the cost of obtaining qualifications necessary for employment.

Target audience

A mother in a single-parent household or a father in a single-parent household who is taking an educational training course and meets all of the following requirements:

  1. Receiving child support benefits or meeting similar income standards
  2. Attending the relevant education and training is deemed necessary in order to obtain a suitable job.
  3. Not having received training benefits in the past

Amount paid

 Amount equivalent to 60% of the tuition fee (up to 200,000 yen)

 An amount equivalent to 60% of the course fee (maximum 1,600,000 yen)
Note: If the amount does not exceed 12,000 yen, no payment will be made.
Note: For those who are eligible to receive education and training benefits from the employment insurance system, this will be the difference between the amount paid and that amount.

Higher vocational training promotion benefits for single-parent households and single-parent households

A portion of the cost will be subsidized to cover living expenses during the period of obtaining the qualifications necessary for employment.

Target audience

A mother of a single mother or a father of a single father who works at a training institution in order to obtain a national qualification that will be advantageous for employment and contribute to the stability of one's life, and who meets all of the following requirements:

  1. Receiving child support benefits or meeting similar income standards
  2. Those who have completed a certain course at a training institution with a period of study of one year or more and are expected to acquire the applicable qualification
  3. It is recognized that it is difficult to balance work or childcare with training.
  4. Not receiving benefits with the same purpose under the job applicant support system or employment insurance system.
  5. Have not received advanced vocational training promotion benefits in the past.


Payment period/payment amount

1. Higher vocational training promotion benefit: During the training period (maximum 3 years, but 4 years if a 4-year course is required to obtain a qualification)
Households subject to municipal tax will pay 70,500 yen per month, and non-taxable households will pay 100,000 yen per month (an additional 40,000 yen per month for the final 12 months of the training period).
2. Higher vocational training completion support grant: 25,000 yen for taxable households, 50,000 yen for non-taxable households (paid at the end of the training period)

Single-parent family housing support loan

The Tokyo Metropolitan Council of Social Welfare lends housing support funds to single-parent families who are ambitiously working toward independence.

Target audience

People who meet all of the following requirements

  1. Receiving child rearing allowance (including those with the same level of income)
  2. As a general rule, you are registered as a resident in Tokyo.
  3. Aiming for independence following the formulation of the Mother-Child and Father-Child Independence Support Program

Within 40,000 yen per month (up to 12 months)

If a person who is not employed finds a job within one year from the date of receiving the loan, or changes jobs with a higher income expected than at the time the program was established, and continues to work for one year, the repayment debt amount will be reduced upon application. Eligibility for loans

Applicants must meet the following requirements and have lived in Tokyo for more than 6 months without a spouse.

Single-parent home home help service

We dispatch helpers to single-parent families.

Dispatch target

Single-parent families with children who have not completed compulsory education and whose address is in Inagi City, and who fall into any of the following categories:

  1. Families that have been single-parent for less than two years, have experienced a drastic change in their living environment that is causing difficulties in carrying out their daily lives, and are in need of support.
  2. If you are attending a vocational ability development center, etc. to acquire skills.
  3. When it is deemed necessary to promote independence such as job hunting.
  4. When temporary support is required due to reasons deemed socially necessary, such as illness, nursing care, ceremonial occasions, school events, etc. (Advance arrangements are required, so please contact us as soon as possible.)
  5. Regular living assistance is provided to single-parent families raising infants or children attending elementary school who come home late due to work-related reasons (excluding those working regular working hours). , families in need of childcare services.
  6. Other cases where home help services for single-parent families are deemed necessary.
