In Inagi City, items that are no longer needed are broadly divided into ``burnable garbage'', ``non-burnable garbage'', ``bulky garbage'', ``hazardous garbage'', and ``recyclables''. We collect them in 5 categories: In total, we collect approximately 18,563 tons per year, which is enough to fill 52 25-meter swimming pools at schools .
After collecting things that are no longer needed, they are either burned as garbage or recycled as resources . Burning garbage has a negative impact on our lives, such as causing global warming, which increases the temperature of the entire planet, so we ask people to separate their garbage when they put it out so that we can reduce the amount we burn and recycle more .
When you throw away something you no longer need, please carefully consider whether it is ``garbage'' or ``recyclables'' and separate it properly before throwing it away.
The garbage we throw away at home is recycled and returned to us once again. This time, let's explain using a plastic bottle as an example.
When you throw away plastic bottles of tea or juice that you drank at home or outside, garbage collectors take them to recycling plants .
At the recycling factory, the plastic bottles brought in are washed and shredded into small , easily recyclable materials ( flakes ).
The PET bottles that have been made into a shape that is easy to recycle are transported to a recycling factory . At this factory, the flakes are used as materials to make various items such as the T-shirts and erasers that we all use every day. Of course, some of the flakes are recycled into PET bottles again.
In this way, products made from recycled plastic bottles are sold at stores and return to your hands once again.
