Last updated: September 8, 2020

When people with severe physical or mental disabilities receive medical treatment at a hospital or clinic, we will subsidize part of the insurance copayment that they pay at the counter.
From January 1, 2019, people who hold a Class 1 Mental Health and Welfare Card will be eligible for the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Expense Subsidy System for Persons with Physical and Mental Disabilities (Marushou).
In order to receive the Marushou benefit, you must apply to the ward, city, town or village in which you are registered as a resident.
