An increasing number of elderly people are feeling anxious about their daily lives, such as not having relationships with their neighbors or having no one to turn to when they are in trouble. These elderly people can continue to live with peace of mind in the area they are used to by supporting each other from those close to them in the community. Inagi City has appointed lifestyle support coordinators (community mutual support promoters) since FY2015, who work together with local residents and related organizations such as social welfare councils to provide forums for discussions (consultative bodies) for community development. We have set it up.
What is a lifestyle support coordinator (community support promoter)?
Lifestyle support coordinators (community mutual support promoters) are responsible for creating opportunities for community discussions and connecting local people. The city has a first-tier lifestyle support coordinator, and each regional comprehensive support center has a second-tier lifestyle support coordinator.
What is a consultative body?
This is a forum for discussing the creation of a community of mutual support. There are first-tier and second-tier councils. The first tier of councils is where city-wide issues are discussed, while the second tier of councils is where local issues are discussed. Any issues that cannot be resolved by the second-tier consultative body alone will be brought to the first-tier consultative body for discussion.
