Generic drugs are drugs that are sold after the patent for a new drug (original drug) has expired and that have the same active ingredients and the same efficacy and effect as the original drug.
Because it is cheaper and more economical than brand-name drugs, it reduces patients' out-of-pocket costs and improves insurance finances.
You can easily find out if your prescription has a generic drug.
The city is notifying people who are enrolled in National Health Insurance and who may be able to pay less at medical institutions by switching to generic drugs.
Please use this as a reference for deciding whether or not to use generic drugs.
Note: If you wish to switch to a generic drug, please contact your doctor or pharmacist (switching may not be possible due to treatment policy, etc.)
