Regarding application for admission to special nursing home

From April 2015, due to the revision of the Long-term Care Insurance Act, in principle, those with nursing care needs level 3 to 5 can be admitted to special nursing homes.
Those with nursing care level 1 or 2 may apply for special admission if there is an unavoidable reason that makes it difficult for them to carry out daily activities at home.

Regarding applications for admission after April 2015

[Those requiring nursing care levels 3, 4, and 5]

As before, please apply directly to the special nursing home you wish to enter.

[For those requiring nursing care 1 and 2] (Special admission)

Please contact the special nursing home you wish to enter directly.
Applications will be accepted at the facility if the following reasons apply to the difficulty of carrying out daily activities at home.
(1) A person with dementia who frequently exhibits symptoms, behaviors, and communication difficulties that interfere with daily life.
(2) Frequently exhibiting symptoms, behavior, and difficulty in communication that interfere with daily life due to intellectual disability or mental disorder.
(3) It is difficult to ensure physical and mental safety and security due to suspicion of serious abuse by family members, etc.
(4) Being a single-person household, unable to expect support from family members, etc. due to elderly or infirm family members, and insufficient provision of nursing care services and lifestyle support in the community.

Those who have already applied for admission

[Those requiring nursing care levels 3, 4, and 5]

No formalities are required.

[For those requiring nursing care 1 and 2]

If you are contacted by the facility you applied for, please respond.

Those currently enrolled in the facility

Even if you change to Nursing Care 1 or Nursing Care 2 after April 2015, you will still be eligible for admission.
