Do not feed wild animals such as pigeons and carp

Last updated: March 15, 2022

The feeding of pigeons and other animals seen in Misawa River and parks has been damaged. Even feeding animals with love can affect the health of wildlife ecosystems. In order to maintain a healthy ecosystem and protect the environment, please do not feed them.

don't do it
Do not feed the pigeons!

Feeding wildlife causes them to overpopulate and expand their roosting areas.
They build nests where people live, increasing the damage caused by their droppings and cries.
They are no longer able to forage on their own, and biodiversity is destroyed.

What is biodiversity

In our daily lives, we are surrounded by many living things, including plants, animals, insects and fish.
Living things are connected to each other, and all living things are connected by the relationship of "eating" and "being eaten".
We call the various mutual support relationships that exist between living things "biodiversity."
Harmful or reckless feeding of living creatures around us, and actions that disturb the original way of life of living creatures, destroy the bonds between living creatures, making it impossible to connect biodiversity to the future.
Treat living things with kindness and consideration.
