Households with toilets are cleaned once a month.
In areas where sewage service has been in service for three years, a fee will be charged from the first use, and in other areas from the second monthly use.
Note: From April 1, 2020, the human waste disposal fee will be changed to 1,530 yen per time.
At businesses with toilet facilities (including temporary toilets), work is done by appointment only. The charge is 1,020 yen per 1 barrel (36 liters) and is pay-as-you-go.
Work will be done on weekday afternoons. Please apply by calling the Living Environment Division. If you are at a construction site, please prepare a map of the site.
When installing a septic tank in areas other than areas where public sewerage is available, prior notification is required.

The Septic Tank Law requires that managers of septic tanks do the following: Please cooperate in maintaining septic tanks to prevent rivers from becoming polluted.
Cleaning is required at least once a year. Please apply for cleaning to a "septic tank cleaning business licensed by the city." Those who are registered with the city will receive a partial subsidy for cleaning work costs (once a year).
Note: Due to the revision of the Consumption Tax Act, a tax rate of 10% will be applied from October 1, 2019.

Depending on the treatment method and the number of people being treated, please undergo maintenance inspections from 2 to 12 times a year.

We have received information about suspicious businesses claiming to have come to inspect the area at the request of the city. The city does not request inspections, so if you have any questions, please contact the Environment Division.
In order to prevent rivers and waterways from being polluted by household wastewater, we subsidize a portion of the installation costs for those who install a combined treatment septic tank that processes both human waste and gray water. If you wish to receive subsidies, please apply for the subsidy before starting construction.
For those who install a suction hole for household gray water and are registered with the city, we will subsidize a portion of the cleaning costs up to three times a year. Please apply for cleaning to a company contracted by the city.
