Organization Overview

The Inagi City Women's Fire Prevention Club was founded in November 1982 by women living in Inagi City as the "Inagi City Women's Fire Prevention Club" with 43 members, and changed its name to the "Inagi City Women's Fire Prevention Club" in 2004.
Based on the basic principles of "protect your own home" and "protect your town with your own hands," as of May 2024, there are 62 club members, mainly housewives, who work to raise awareness of fire prevention, disaster prevention, and crime prevention in the home and community, as well as to create a town where people can live safely and securely.

The first-aid seminars include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, methods to stop bleeding in case of major bleeding, first aid measures necessary until an ambulance arrives at the scene, and the handling of an automatic external defibrillator (AED).

Every January, the Inagi City Women's Fire Prevention Club participates in the fire department's opening ceremony, which aims to protect the lives, bodies, and property of citizens and create a bright city free of disasters.The Inagi City Women's Fire Prevention Club participates in parades and distributes oshiruko to visitors. At the fire prevention/disaster prevention training session, disaster prevention section staff taught how to make lanterns made from canned tuna and slippers from newspaper using everyday items from the "Tokyo Disaster Prevention" and "Tokyo Living Fire Prevention" books distributed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. We will hold courses, as well as provide first aid training, initial fire extinguishing training, inspection guidelines for residential fire alarms, training for setting up soup kitchens, etc.

At the observation training sessions, we will increase knowledge about fire and disaster prevention through disaster prevention lectures and experiential tours in each region. In addition, club members will deepen their interactions by touring disaster prevention facilities and walking around the sites being inspected.
