On the other hand, AEDs are designated as highly controlled medical devices and specified maintenance management medical devices under the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law, and if they are not properly managed, they may have a serious impact on human life and health. It's a medical device.
For this reason, it is more important than ever to ensure proper maintenance of AEDs in order to prevent serious events such as inability to demonstrate their performance due to inadequate management when AEDs are used.

AED installers should appoint a person to carry out daily inspections of the installed AEDs, and carry out daily inspections according to the attached documents and instruction manual.

• Manage consumables

Consumables (electrode pads and batteries) need to be replaced periodically. Indicate when to replace consumables, attach a display label to the main body of the AED or storage case, etc. so that the contents can be easily checked from the outside. Please replace it in good time.
Also, keep in mind that the AED itself also has a useful life. The service life varies depending on the model, so please check the document attached to the AED or contact the manufacturer.

• Response when replacing consumables

When you replace the electrode pad or battery, use the new display label or sticker attached to the new electrode pad, etc., and attach it to the AED after describing the next replacement time.

Purchasers or installers of AEDs can sign maintenance contracts with AED distributors and repairers and outsource the management of installed AEDs.
